Georgia QB Aaron Murray returns to Tampa as his father battles cancer
Former Tampa Plant standout and current Georgia starting quarterback Aaron Murray returned to Tampa on Sunday after learning of his father's diagnosis with thyroid cancer, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
According to AJC.com, Murray found out that his father, Denny Murray, had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and underwent surgery today at Moffit Cancer Center.
It was a tough weekend for Murray, whose Bulldogs lost to South Carolina on Saturday night before he was informed of his father's illness.
