Hammond's scholarship status remains uncertain
Florida WR Frankie Hammond, Jr’s status as a non-scholarship player has not changed yet.
Hammond lost his scholarship following a DUI arrest last summer, and has been paying his own way this fall.
UF coach Urban Meyer said Hammond has been adhering to the rules handed down following his reinstatement to the team, but he hasn’t decided if, or when, the redshirt sophomore will get his scholarship back.
“Do I have a timetable? No, but I'm evaluating everything he's doing and that includes his unselfish contribution to this team, his academic reports, and his off-the-field behavior,’’ Meyer said. “And he’s assisting us with a lot of off-the-field things. He's doing very well.’’
