How much a freshman will play for Gators largely depends on the individual, Will Muschamp says
As the Gators begin day four of fall camp, Florida coach Will Muschamp says there isn't a single position he's ready to say has been completely nailed down by any one player.
As for the freshman. Muschamp said every one of them will be given the opportunity to play this season, but it isn't easy and much of it depends on the kind of person the player is.
“Playing with a freshman obviously has to do with ability, but has more than anything to do with maturity,’’ Muschamp said. “Right now we’re still in school, and those guys are still enrolled in classes. So they’ve got to balance school, balance a playbook and learn a bunch of new terminology and do it at a really fast pace. And they’ve got to balance all of the other extracurricular going on their life right now. The mature ones learn how to balance that, and the immature ones don’t and then get frustrated when you get close to the season and they don’t understand why they’re not playing. The ones that are very mature handle that very well.’’
