Jeff Demps says injury is affecting his game

Still limping with a sprained left foot he suffered in the Sept. 18 Tennessee game, Florida RB Jeff Demps said today he was only "about 90 percent" for the Alabama game and he's still struggling with the injury.

Demps said he didn't know until "right before the game" whether he would be able to play last Saturday night.

"I'm getting treatment every day and the trainers are doing a good job of trying to get me back,'' Demps said.

With a limited Demps, Florida was only able to gain 79 rushing yards against Alabama, and even injured Demps accounted for 47 of those yards on 11 carries.

But he said the injury is defiitely hampering his ability to peform.

"It bothers me when I'm running and also it bothers me when I try to cut, plant or come back,'' Demps said. "I'm trying to tough it out, but at the same time, I think it's affecting me."
