Muschamp announces three more hires

Florida head coach Will Muschamp announced today the hiring of three new staff members including Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Charlie Weis - who as previously reported will be the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Also joining the staff are Frank Verducci (offensive line/running game coordinator) and George Wynn, who will serve as director of football operations.

Weis, 54, will remain with the Chiefs, whom he's credited with helping to win an AFC West title, throughout the playoffs.

“Charlie will remain with the Kansas City Chiefs through the playoffs,” Muschamp said. “We hope the Chiefs make a run to the
Super Bowl – it would be great for the Chiefs and great for the Gators. Everyone involved with the Kansas City organization has been
first class about the transition.”

Verducci, 53, has 28 years of coaching experience at the collegiate and NFL levels, and has coached several Pro Bowlers and All-Americans throughout the course of his career. He coached at Notre Dame in 2009 following a eight seasons coaching in the NFL over the span of 10 years from 1999-2008, including stints with the Cleveland Browns (2007-08), Buffalo Bills (2004-05), Dallas Cowboys (2002) and Cincinnati Bengals (1999-2001).

"Frank will bring a sense of toughness and a physical style of play from our offensive line,” Muschamp said.

Wynn comes to Florida following six seasons as assistant athletics director for football operations at Texas. Wynn joined the Longhorn staff after spending the previous six seasons at Arizona State as director of football operations.
