Nick Saban, Will Muschamp like what they see in Gators, Tide quarterbacks

Florida coach Will Muschamp and Alabama coach Nick Saban have spent the week analyzing each other's quarterbacks in preparation for Saturday night's game.

Muschamp said Tide QB A.J. McCarron has played the game efficiently for Alabama.

"I think he's been very efficient,'' Muschamp said. "He's only had two interceptions so far this season. He's taking the ball to the right spots. They No. 1, or close to the top of the league in total offense and they're 4-0. So I think he's been pretty good. I think he's been very efficient in what he does. And I think, again, the quarterback position, unfortunately, gets way too much credit when things are going well and unfortunately way too much blame when things aren't going well. They've played well around him and I think he's played well.''

Saban is facing Florida QB John Brantley for the second season, and said he believes the senior has improved.

“I think he has done really well,'' Saban said. "He has managed the games well. He hasn’t turned the ball over a lot. I think he sort of takes what the defense gives him and hasn’t forced a lot of throws. I think he has been very, very effective. They’ve been very effective. They have, statistically, the best offense in the league and have scored a lot of points."
