Nine Gators selected to coaches All-SEC team

Five Gators, led by QB Tim Tebow and LB Brandon Spikes on Tuesday were named to the first team All-SEC team, selected by the league's coaches.

In all, the Gators had nine players selected, second only to SEC West champ Alabama, who had 10.

Joining Spikes and Tebow on the first team are: WR Percy Harvin, OL Phil Trautwein, and return specialist Brandon James.

OL Mike Pouncey, S Ahmad Black, CB Joe Haden and P Chas Henry  were selected to the All-SEC second team.

Former Tampa Robinson standout Javier Arenas was honored twice. Arenas was selected to the second-team defense as a defensive back and was placed on the second team as a return specialist.

Florida's five first-team selections were tied for the highest amount
in the conference, matching Alabama. The five first-team honorees match the number of honors given to the Gators following the 2006 National Championship season.
