Omarius Hines will take over for Chris Rainey

Redshirt sophomore receiver Omarius Hines will start in place of WR Chris Rainey when the Gators travel to Knoxville on Saturday, Florida coach Urban Meyer said today.

Rainey has been indefinitely suspended following his arrest for stalking Tuesday.

Rainey has just six receptions for 34 yards, so Meyer said the Gators have the capability to fill that void.

"We haven't had a lot of production in the the first two games from him, but you're going to lose anytime you lose a good player,'' Meyer said. "But the good news is, Omarius Hines is a very talented guy that we're moving in, and Jordan Reed will be going to Omarius' spot. So we've got some guys that can still make plays.''

Hines has five receptions for 55 yards in two games.

Meyer said he has no timetable for when, or if, Rainey will return.

"I can't do that (give timetable) because I don't know,'' he said. "He's not with the team. It's just further evaluation as we go. As of the immediacy of it, he's not with us.''
