Patriots backup quarterback not bothered by idea of drafting Tim Tebow

April

Following his private workout with New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick this week, speculation is rampant that the Patriots will draft former UF quarterback Tim Tebow in the NFL draft at the end of April.

UF coach Urban Meyer and Belichick are good friends, and the Patriots' coach is familiar with Tebow. The Patriots have three second-round draft slots.

The move would give Tebow time to study behind veteran All-Pro Tom Brady, which most NFL experts and analysts agree is a must for Tebow to become successful at the next level.

Current backup quarterback Brian Hoyer told The Providence Journal he has no problems with the team drafting Tebow, even if it puts the two in direct competition for a job.
