Playing the best paying off for Florida women's lacrosse
Two years ago Florida lacrosse coach Amanda O'Leary appeared at her first press conference and talked about her hopes for the newest women's sports program at UF.
The decision had been made by Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley that the Gators would play in the American Lacrosse Conference, one of the premier conferences in the nation. O'Leary admitted the decision was a risk for a starting program, but said the Gators were determined to play among the best even in their infant stages.
Today, Florida is ranked No. 6 in the nation and enters a critical conference game this Saturday against Johns Hopkins with an 11-1 record, 2-0 in the conference.
