Rainey on track, Sturgis working on a comeback

If Chris Rainey can make it through one more day, he'll be on the field when Florida meets Georgia Saturday afternoon.

"As of now, he’s done everything he’s supposed to do,'' UF coach Urban Meyer said today. "Tomorrow is the deadline I set for him and myself. So I’ll just do a thorough check again tomorrow of everything we’re asking him to do.''

Meanwhile kicker Caleb Sturgis practiced on Monday and Meyer said he expects to know more today on Sturgis' status for Saturday's game. Sturgis has missed the past three games with a back injury.

"Right now I'd put probable,'' Meyer said.

As for the injuried running backs, Jeff Demps has practiced this week, but still isn't 100 percent, and Mike Gillislee is also still hampered with an injury. Meyer said Emmanuel Moody is back at nearly full strength.
