Report: St. John's interested in Florida coach Billy Donovan

A report in the New York Post says Florida coach Billy Donovan has been in contact with supporters close to St. John's University about its vacant head coaching position.

New York Post reporter Lenn Robbins said sources have confirmed Donovan listened to the "possibility'' of coaching at St. John's.

Donovan, a native of New York, has been Florida's head coach since March 1996, and led the Gators to back-to-back national championships in 2006 and 2007. The Gators advanced to the NCAA Tournament last week for the first time since 2007, but lost in the first round in double overtime to BYU.
