Seven former Florida players to participate in NFL combine
Florida and Georgia will lead the SEC with seven players each having been invited to participate in the 2011 NFL Combine, Feb. 24- March 1.
LSU has six, followed by South Carolina with five.
Former Gators Ahmad Black, Marcus Gilbert, Chas Henry, Maurice Hurt, Carl Johnson, Mike Pouncey and junior Will Hill will all compete in the Combine.
UF has had a nation's-best seven first-round picks since 2007 and the Gators have had a first round pick in each of the last four NFL Drafts. Florida tied a school record with three first-round draft picks last year and led the nation with nine selections a year ago.
The SEC leads the nation with 40 total players invited to participate in the Combine. In 2010, the SEC had 49 players selected in the NFL Draft, the most SEC players ever taken in the NFL Draft.
More than 300 top prospects for the NFL Draft will be invited to participate at the combine in Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
