Soccer places three on All-Academic team



Florida placed three players on the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III teams for soccer.

Senior Ashley Harris is a member of the first team and now advances to the national ballot. Florida also placed seniors Stacy Bishop and Bianca Gibbs on the district third team. UF was one of four programs (Florida, Florida State, North Carolina, South Carolina) to place all three of its candidates on District III teams.

Harris has a 3.64 GPA in zoology and wants to pursue a career in dentistry. She shares UF's 2007 lead in goals (7) and is third with 15 points. After a three-goal weekend Sept. 7-9, Harris was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week and was named to national teams of the week by Soccer America and She was an ESPN The Magazine All-District second team member in 2006 and was named to the 2006 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar second team. Harris is a member of the 2005 and 2006 SEC Academic Honor Roll.
