Tampa's Tommy Toledo returns to the mound
Florida pitcher Tommy Toledo threw one scoreless inning in Florida's 7-3 win over Florida Atlantic Wednesday night, his first time on the mound since an injury sidelined him.
The Alonzo alum was injured on March 14 after he was hit in the face by a line drive. Toledo suffered a broken nose and facial fracture.
"It was a special moment,'' UF head coach Kevin O'Sullivan said of Toledo's return. "The players were excited to get him back out there. As a coach, you get a little choked up. He was chomping at the bit. It was great to see him out there, and obviously he will be a huge part of our success down the stretch."
