Tim Tebow enters draft under no stress at all
With his family by his side and looking completely relaxed, former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow said Thursday afternoon that he's preparing to watch Thursday night's NFL draft feeling no stress or anxiety at all.
"To be honest I think I'm prepared for anything,'' Tebow said as he gathered with his family at the Glen Kernan Golf and Country Club in Jacksonville. "In the course of my career, I've probably dealt with a lot more and a lot of athletes probably have so this is just an exciting time. It's not really pressure. Getting ready to go play for championships or sitting there and waiting to hear if you won or lost the Heisman, I think that's more pressure than this. This you know you're going to go somewhere. You just don't know where or when. That's the exciting part for me. I'm just going to sit back and wait and regardless when it is or where it is, I'm going to be excited because this is going to be a dream come true to play in the NFL."
Tebow said he chose not to travel to New York for the draft because he wanted to share the night with his family and close friends who have supported him throughout his life.
"They (NFL) were so gracious and so generous with everything, but we did get asked to go there,'' he said. "As a kid, as an athlete, I always watched the draft and saw it and saw the guys walk up there and hold up their jersey with the commissioner and that was always cool. But it's more important for me to be here and to be with my family and to be with my close friends and everybody that's just around us supporting us. We could have got a lot of them up there and the NFL was very gracious but it was so hard to get everybody there and this is my home and this is where I'm excited and this is where I want to celebrate, with all the people that care about me so that's why I made the decision to come here.''
Tebow said reports that he's already aware of which team will draft him and what round are false.
"That's just a lot of talk,'' Tebow said. "I don't know where I'm going.''
