Tim Tebow explains decision to do Super Bowl ad
Former quarterback Tim Tebow is in Mobile, AL this week preparing for Saturday's Senior Bowl, but one of the topics of discussion surrounding him so far is the pro-family Super Bowl ad Tebow will appear in during the Feb. 7 Super Bowl.
The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner and devout Christian will be featured, along with his mother Pam, in a 30-second Super Bowl ad for Focus on the Family. The mother and son will share a personal story in the 30-second spot from the international family-help organization, which will focus on the theme "Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life."
"I know some people won't agree with it but I think they can at least respect that I stand up for what I believe and I'm never shy about that,'' Tebow said. "I don't feel like I'm very preachy about it, but I do stand up for what I belive and at least you can respect that because I do stand up and unfortunately in today's society not many athletes tend to do that, at least stand for something. I'm just standing for something and I've always been very convicted of it. One, that's the reason I'm here becaue my mom was a very courageous woman and wouldn't say no in a lot of circumstances. That's the reason I'm here and I'm very thankful for that, so any way that I could help I would do it.''
