Tim Tebow a finalists for Lowe's Senior CLASS award



Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is among 10 finalists for the 2009 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award in the football division.

The award honors student-athletes who have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – classroom, character, community and competition.

CLASS, which stands for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

The 2009 finalists are: Zane Beadles, Utah; Richie Brockel, Boise State; Eric Decker, Minnesota; Kurtis Gregory, Missouri; Jerry Hughes, TCU; Dan LeFevour, Central Michigan; Colt McCoy, Texas; Zoltan Mesko, Michigan; Darrell Stuckey, Kansas; and Tim Tebow, Florida.

Nationwide voting has begun and will continue until Dec. 6. Fan balloting is available on the award’s official Web site,, These votes will be combined with votes from coaches and media to determine the recipient of the award.
