UPD to recommend charges for Dominique Easley
Following its investigation into an alleged attack by Florida DT Dominique Easley on a former Alabama football player, the University Police Department has filed a report recommending charges be filed against Easley for misdemeanor battery.
Reggie Myles, who played for Alabama from 1998-2001, filed a criminal complaint against Easley on Oct. 1 saying he was attacked by Easley outside of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium shortly after Alabama's 38-10 victory over Florida.
UPD has been investigating the incident. Myles alleges that he was tackled from behind in an unprovoked attack. He reportedly received treatment at a local hospital.
UPD has also recommended criminal mischief, larceny and disorderly conduct charges for Myles based on his behavior after he contacted police on the night of the alleged attack. Myles was allegedly intoxicated and agitated when police arrived, which led to him being cited for public intoxication and criminal mischief.
The State Attorney's Office will review the sworn complaints and decide whether to proceed with charges against Easley and Myles.
