Urban Meyer among former Gators to participate in Orlando golf tournament



Florida coach Urban Meyer will join several former Gator football players for the First annual Miracle of Life Foundation golf tournament this weekend in Orlando.

The event will be hosted by former Gators Darryl Perry and Emmitt Smith, Saturday at Hawk's Landing Golf Club.

Meyer is expected to be among several other former Gator players including Clifford Charlton, Terry Jackson, Willie Jackson, James Jones, Tony Jones, Kennard Lang, Errict Rhett, Jarvis Williams and Lawrence Wright.  

The Miracle of Life Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing information, support, research and encouragement into the lives of over 5.3 million people throughout the country who suffer with
a serious brain-related illness and injury.
In 2007, at the prime of his life, Perry suffered from cerebral hypoxia and cardiac arrest in his sleep and died in his wife Nicky’s arms. Despite administration of CPR by his wife and paramedics he remained brain dead and comatose for almost three weeks. At the time, physicians recommended that he be removed from life support, He has since recovered and is healthy, talking and walking again.
