Will Muschamp not anticipating a lot of blowouts for Gators

When Florida conducted its first scrimmage on Monday, the Gators spent a good deal of time focusing on late-game situational drills.

Gators' coach Will Muschamp said it's imperative that the Gators become accustomed to late-game situations because he expects Florida will find itself in many of those this season.

"We put in a lot of situational work, coming out, red zone, move the field,'' Muschamp said. "We played four end-of-game situations where we put time on the clock and we had to finish the game and make great decisions as a staff. Us being a new staff together, I thought it was important to make some of those decisions when we’re going to bleed the clock, when we’re going to punt, those sort of things. We put our players in situations of centering the ball for a field goal, we didn’t execute very well. Some of those things that you kind of take for granted.''

So why is Muschamp so intent on making sure the Gators can thrive in the clutch?

"We will have four or five games this year that will come down to the last drive of the game,'' Muschamp said. "And we’ve got to execute in those situations.''
