Will Mushcamp satisfied with first Florida recruiting class
He didn't inherit the best of circumstances, but new Florida head coach Will Muschamp said Wednesday that he's pleased with the 18 players Florida signed on National Signing Day, especially considering the Gators had just one month to try and establish relationships with players.
Muschamp's strategy essentially consisted of holding onto as many players as possible that had orally committed with Florida coach Urban Meyer, then picking up a few more players to fill critical needs.
As for where the Gators' class is ranked by the recruiting experts and how many three and four-star recruits the Gators have, Muschamp said he couldn't care less.
"I don't count stars,'' he said. "I watch the tape. I recruit. I don't want to disappoint or offend anyone, but I don't read the internet. I just put the tape on and decide from critical factor standpoint, this guy can fit in our program and be a good football player.''
