Dabo Swinney: Clemson isn't worried about who starts as FSU's quarterback
Florida State still seems uncertain whether Everett Golson or Sean Maguire will start at quarterback Saturday. And Clemson doesn’t seem to mind.
“We’re preparing for Florida State, not a certain quarterback,” Tigers coach Dabo Swinney said during Wednesday’s ACC coaches teleconference.
Golson did not play last week against Syracuse due to lingering concussion symptoms. That paved the way for Maguire, a redshirt junior, to make his first start of the season. He passed for 348 yards and three touchdowns in a 45-21 win.
Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher said he was pleased with Maguire’s maturity and progression in what was his second career start. Maguire also started last year’s game against the Tigers and helped FSU earn a 23-17 overtime win.
