Dante Fowler, Jr. 'impressive,' D.J. Durkin says
With the loss of seven defensive starters from last season, Florida first-year defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin has his work cut out for him rebuilding that unit.
Durkin said one aspect that some may overlook is that the Gators have several players returning who saw significant playing time last season - and some of them are already transitioning well into the role of full-time starter.
Among them, DL Dante Fowler, Jr.
The former St. Petersburg Lakewood standout played in every game last seson as a freshman, with one start. He was named to SEC Coaches All-Freshman team.
Durkin raved about Fowler during his media sesion this week, calling him "an impressive football player."
