Florida C Patric Young among preseason first team All-SEC



Florida senior center Patric Young has been selected to the coaches preseason All-SEC First Team, the league announced today.

Senior guard Scottie Wilbekin was named to the All-SEC Second Team. They are the only two Gators represented on the preseason teams.

Seven schools are represented on the two teams with Kentucky having the most selections with five.  Tennessee had three and Florida, LSU and Missouri each have two selections. In all, 37 different players received votes for the coaches’ teams.

Young averaged 10.1 points and 6.3 rebounds last season. Wilbekin, who is currently indefinitely suspended for violation of team rules, averaged 9.1 points per game.

Florida will open the 2013 season today, at 3 p.m., vs. North Florida.
