Florida Gators defensive end CeCe Jefferson (foot) provided a lift to practice this week, coach Jim McElwain said.

Whether he'll be able to provide a lift to the Gators at LSU on Saturday is still unclear. McElwain suggested that Jefferson might be able to play - which is especially good news, considering McElwain seemed much less optimistic about end Bryan Cox (ankle).

McElwain expects offensive lineman Tyler Jordan (leg) to be available, too, in some capacity.

McElwain also provided an update on UF's backup quarterback situation: His dog, Claire-a-Belle, is banged up, too, and won't be available. Here's hoping the pooch doesn't have to wear the cone of shame.
