Florida Gators injury updates: Jarrad Davis, Jordan Sherit, Bryan Cox and Joey Ivie
Florida Gators coach Jim McElwain gave a few quick injury updates Wednesday:
Linebacker Jarrad Davis severely injured his ankle against Missouri and won't practice this week. McElwain said Davis will do everything he can to return for the Oct. 29 against Georgia.
"We'll see where that is," McElwain told reporters in Gainesville.
Defensive lineman Jordan Sherit (Hillsborough High) participated in Tuesday's practice in shorts as he recovers from arthroscopic knee surgery. McElwain said on the SEC coaches' teleconference that he wasn't sure whether Sherit will be able to return against Georgia, after UF's bye week, or whether he'll have to wait another week.
McElwain seemed less optimistic about the potential return of two other defensive lineman. Bryan Cox injured his thumb Saturday, and Joey Ivie (Pasco High) is still in a cast after hurting his thumb last month. McElwain suggested that Cox might not play again this season.
