Florida Gators' Luke Del Rio could return this week for LSU game
GAINESVILLE - Florida Gators quarterback Luke Del Rio could return from a left knee injury this week, coach Jim McElwain said Monday.
Del Rio has missed the last two games but has been targeting Saturday's LSU game for his return.
"His mind-set is, he's going to play, and that's good," McElwain said.
Del Rio will practice some today and try to increase his reps later in the week. UF will monitor his swelling and stability, McElwain said.
Austin Appleby has started the last two games in Del Rio's absence.
In other injury news, defensive lineman Jordan Sherit (Hillsborough High) will be out after having arthroscopic surgery.
