Florida Gators punter Kyle Christy named to Ray Guy Award watch list
Florida punter Kyle Christy has been named to the Ray Guy Award preseason watch list, announced today. The award is presented annually to the nation's top punter.
Christy is one of four semifinalists and the only finalist from 2012 to be named to the watch list, which consists of 25 collegiate punters.
A junior from Brownsburg, Ind., Christy is ranked second in school history with a 44.3 yards per punt average. He set a school record for single-game punt average against South Carolina in 2012 with a 54.3 yard per punt average. Christy also set a school record in 2012 with a season average of 45.8 yards per punt.
Ten semifinalists will be announced on Nov. 8, and three finalists will be announced on Nov. 25. The winner will be announced live during The Home Depot College Football Awards airing on ESPN on Dec. 12.
