Florida Gators' recently arrested players will open fall camp with team

GAINESVILLE - Florida Gators freshman receivers Tyrie Cleveland and Rick Wells are still dealing with consequences from their BB gun-related arrests last month but will be with the team when practice begins tomorrow.

"They were dealt some pretty heavy consequences right as it happened," coach Jim McElwain said Wednesday during UF's media day. "Those consequences (have) continued on. Nothing has been finalized..."

Cleveland and Wells were both arrested last month and charged with two felonies apiece for their roles in a BB gun incident. Surveillance footage obtained by The Alligator shows their shots breaking windows at the Keys Residential Complex.

Cleveland was a four-star recruit and the top offensive player in the Gators' signing class. He was the No. 2 receiver in the country, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.

Wells was a three-star prospect from Jacksonville's Raines High.
