Former Gator Marreese Speights arrested in Tampa on DUI charges
Former Gators basketball player Marreese Speights was arrested in Tampa early this morning on charges of Driving Under the Influence - a second degree misdemeanor.
Speights, a native of St. Petersburg who is now a member of the Golden State Warriors, turned 27 on Aug. 4.
According to a Hillsborough County arrest report, Speights was arrested at 3:31 a.m. on Kennedy Blvd. and MacDill Ave. South.
A sixth-year pro, the 6-foot-10 forward/center played played in seven games with the Warriors after being traded from the Memphis Grizzlies in January. He averaged 6.3 points and 3.1 rebounds with the Warriors.
As of early Tuesday morning, he remained in jail on a $500 bond.
