Gator baseball seeks second win over South Carolina tonight



After earning a 3-2 win over No. 8 South Carolina in the series opener Thursday night, the Gators will seek a second victory over the Gamecocks tonight at 7:30 at McKethan Stadium.

Florida is now 3-7 in one-run games this season, with wins in its last two games. The win Thursday night ended South Carolina's  four-game winning streak and pulled the Gators to within one game of .500 this season. Florida is currently 17-18 and 6-7 in league play.

Florida now has nine wins over ranked opponents, most in the SEC.

South Carolina (27-8, 8-5 SEC) is expected to start left-handed pitcher Jordan Montgomery (3-0, 0.78). Florida will start freshman Danny Young (1-3, 3.38).
