Gators alter spring game format

Due to a significant number of injuries to Florida's offensive line, the Gators' annual Orange and Blue game format has been altered and will essentially be an open practice instead of a game.

Florida coach Will Muschamp said today that although Florida has 11 OL on scholarship, five are injured, including Trip Thurman who underwent surgery on Monday to repair a torn labrum and will be out for the next four months.

Saturday's Orange and Blue game will follow the general format that Florida's 14 previous practices have been conducted under, with a few additions for fans, Muschamp said.

Before, during and after the practice, Muschamp will address the fans to give them an inside look and an explanation of some of the drills and scrimmage situations the team will be running.

The team will still have several 11-on-11 scrimmage periods, but there will also be periods of special teams and individual work mixed in that will closely resemble a normal Gator football practice.

Earlier today, Muschamp gave an update on the spring practices and talked about what fans can expect on Saturday. Check it out here.
