Gators CB Loucheiz Purifoy earns two national honors and SEC Defensive Player of the Week



Florida junior CB Loucheiz Purifoy is collecting all kinds of honors for his performance this past Saturday night vs. Arkansas.

Purifoy has received recognition from two national organizations, and today was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week.

He has also been named the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week and is one of four players named to this week's Paul Hornung Award National Honor Roll.

Purifoy had a career night in the 30-10 win over Arkansas. He had his first career interception, which he returned 42 yards for a touchdown to give Florida its first lead in the game.

He also had his first sack, four tackles, three pass breakups and a forced fumble. Purifoy also returned two punts for 17 yards.
