Gators get Antonio Morrisoon, Jeff Driskel back in fall camp
Florida QB Jeff Driskel and LB Antonio Morrison both returned to practice on Thursday, according to several Florida players.
Morrison is uspended for the first two games of the season for disciplinary reasons and was not allowed to practice with the Gators the first week of camp.
“He was in the meeting room with us,” LB Michael Taylor said. “It was good to see him, good to talk to him. He’s a good, close friend of mine.”
Driskel, who underwent an appendectomy on July 30, has also returned, but how muich contact he's allowed is unclear.
“It’s very important (having Driskel back) because the first game is in a couple of weeks,’ RB Mack Brown said. “He’s the starting quarterback and everybody has to get familiar with each other. The offense runs through Jeff so it’s good to have him back.”
Morrison was suspended after his second arrest in 35 days for barking at a police dog while the canine was on duty. Those charges were later dropped, but UF coach Will Muschamp did not lfit the suspension, saying he was disappointed in Morrision's decision-making.
Muschamp did not have a scheduled meeting with the media on Thursday.
