Gators give up 500 yards in 36-17 loss to Missouri
Florida's stellar defense nearly completely collapsed on Saturday, giving up 500 yards to Missouri in a 36-17 loss at Faurot Field in Columbia.
It was the first time the Gators have allowed 500 or more yards in an SEC game since 2007 against Kentucky.
Florida (4-3, 3-2) was held to just 151 yards (59 rushing) - its fewest yards since 114 vs. Alabama in 1999. The Gators have scored just one offensive touchdown in the past eight quarters – freshman running back Kelvin Taylor’s 17-yard run on Saturday.
Florida coach Will Muschap vowed to spend this upcoming off week trying to find solutions to the Gators' problems.
“I’m a competitor, I’m going to fight my ass off,” Muschamp said. “That’s what you do. When you get your back against the wall, you fight your ass off and that’s what we’re going to do.”
