Gators' Patric Young says victory over Minnesota a total team win
Florida jumped out to a double-digit halftime lead, then held on for a 78-64 victory over No. 11 seed Minnesota Sunday night in the third round of the NCAA south regional.
With the victory, which Patric Young called a total team win, Florida (28-7) will advance to the Sweet 16 to play Florida Gulf Coast University (26-10) Friday at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The Eagles will be making their first Sweet 16 appearance – the first time in NCAA history a No. 15 seed has advanced that far.
The Gators will be making their third consecutive – the first time in school history that feat has been accomplished.
