Gators secondary prepared to be challenged by Missouri receivers
One of Florida's toughest assignments on Saturday afternoon will be defending Mizzouri's receivers.
The Tigers have seven receivers that are 6-foot-2 or taller, including star Dorial Green-Beckham who is 6-foot-6. Beckham has 27 receptions so far this season.
Florida's tallest DB is Loucheiz Purifoy who is 6 feet tall.
Gators safety Cody Riggs, who is 5-foot-9, said the cornerbacks will be especially challenged.
"Well, it has a lot to do with our corners," Riggs said. "In the slot they’re big, too, but our corners will be tested outside too. But it’s nothing we haven’t gone against. I remember Kentucky my sophomore year, even this year, all the Kentucky receivers are pretty big. It’s nothing we’re not used to. We’ve gone against big receivers before."
Florida's Marcus Roberson said the Gators are well aware of the Tigers receivers and the size disadvantage they present.
“Like the shortest receiver I saw (on Mizzou's roster) was like 6-3," Roberson said. "We just have to lock in. They’re a passing team. They’re good. And hopefully we play really good."
