Gators to debut on SEC Network in early September

Florida will make its debut on the new SEC Network with its Sept. 6 game vs. Eastern Michigan, network officials announced today.

The game will kickoff at 4 p.m. at Ben Hill Grifin Stadium. Florida's Sept. 20 game vs. Kentucky will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. - both will be televised on the SEC Network.

The SEC Network is expected to launch on Aug. 14 and will air a game featuring every football team in the SEC within the first four weeks of the 2014 college football season.

The first 16 games include a home game from all 14 SEC football stadiums. Eight SEC schools will open their 2014 seasons on the network, including the defending SEC Champion, Auburn, and Arkansas in a conference matchup at 4 p.m. Aug. 30.

“The fact that the SEC Network will originate a game from every stadium in the conference in the first four weeks of the 2014 season is testament to the depth of coverage fans can expect from the network,” said SEC commissioner Mike Slive. “In just the first month of the season, fans that get the network will enjoy all the passion and pageantry of SEC football from 14 of the greatest venues in the world of sports. This is what the SEC Network is all about.”

On Sept. 6, the six different matchups will be shown on the network, each available to anyone with the SEC Network. The games will be televised on either the SEC Network or an overflow channel made available on that Saturday.

The network will air its first game on Aug. 28 featuring Texas A&M at South Carolina at 6 p.m.
