Jimbo Fisher unsure whether Everett Golson or Sean Maguire will start against Clemson Tigers
Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher would not commit to playing QB Everett Golson - or benching him in favor of Sean Maguire - when the No. 17 Seminoles play at No. 3 Clemson in a game that will likely decide the ACC's Atlantic Division.
During Monday's weekly news conference in Tallahassee, Fisher said he had not yet spoken to Golson about his health. Golson, the graduate transfer from Notre Dame, did not play last week due to a concussion.
Fisher said he can't comment on whether Golson or Maguire will start until he hears more about Golson's health and availability.
"I can't judge that until I see the health of Everett," Fisher said.
Maguire earned his second career start last week and finished 23-of-35 for 348 yards and three touchdowns. Maguire's only previous start came last year against Clemson, when he led the Noles to an overtime victory over the Tigers.
Fisher said Maguire graded out well after watching the film.
FSU also isn't sure whether star RB Dalvin Cook (ankle) will be healthy enough to play at Clemson. Cook didn't play against Syracuse because of the injury, which is unrelated to a hamstring injury that hampered him earlier this season.
