Louisville's Bobby Petrino: FSU has talent, even without Derwin James
No. 2 Florida State will be without its best defensive player, safety Derwin James, in Saturday's top-10 matchup at Louisville. Cardinals coach Bobby Petrino said FSU still presents a big challenge without James, who will miss 5-7 weeks with a torn meniscus.
"I feel bad for him because he's done such a great job for them," Petrino said during Wednesday's ACC coaches teleconference. "He runs around, tackles, covers, rushes the passer. He just is a guy that is very, very talented and plays extremely hard, the way we want players on our team to play...
"They've got a lot of depth there, and they've got a lot of talent. They played a lot of guys in the first two games. We know it's going to be a great challenge for us."
