GAINESVILLE - The Florida Gators should be getting starting quarterback Luke Del Rio back this week.

Del Rio missed the Tennessee and Vanderbilt games with a knee injury but would have been able to play last week, had the LSU game not been postponed, coach Jim McElwain said.
Del Rio is expected to return to action Saturday against Missouri.

"We're excited about that," McElwain said Monday during his weekly news conference. "Luke is excited and itching to go."

Purdue grad transfer Austin Appleby started the past two games in Del Rio's absence.

McElwain did not formally name Del Rio the starter, and Appleby said his approach is not changing during the week of practice.

"Until someone tells me otherwise, I'm preparing to be  the starter this week," Appleby said.
