Patric Young uncertain about his future with Gators
Florida junior center Patric Young said he will take some time off before making a decision about his future with the Gators.
Young, who has been projected as a second-round NBA Draft pick, said after Sunday's Elite Eight loss to Michigan that he has not made a decision about whether he’ll return for his senior season.
Asked whether three trips to the Elite Eight without making it to the Final Four would affect his decision, Young replied: “No, it’s not going to factor into my decision.”
So what will?
“Just whatever makes me happy,’’ Young said. “I’m going to catch up on school, take a little bit of time away and talk to my family. I’m going to do whatever I feel is best.”
After the game, Young expressed sincere empathy for teammate Erik Murphy, who was 0-for-11 from the field in the game, and talked about some of the problems the Gators couldn't overcome against Michigan.
