The warp speed of recruiting shows no signs of slowing down.

According to Rivals, Miami recently extended its first scholarship offer for the class of 2020. Yes, that's a current eighth grader.

The lucky middle schooler is Harrison Bailey, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound quarterback in Marietta, Ga. Rivals reported that Bailey is the first 2020 prospect to earn an offer from the Hurricanes.

It's rare but not unprecedented for eighth grade quarterbacks to pick up scholarship offers. Before Chris Leak went to Florida, he had an offer from Wake Forest as an eighth grader. David Sills committed to USC in seventh grade but ended up enrolling at West Virginia last January.
