The Florida Gators' Steve Spurrier will be honored this December as one of the members of the SEC's Football Legends class, the league announced Tuesday morning.

Spurrier, who won a national title as UF's coach and a Heisman Trophy as a quarterback, will be UF's honoree during events surrounding the SEC title game on Dec. 3 in Atlanta.

Spurrier ended his coaching career last season at South Carolina and is now a consultant and ambassador for UF.

The other members of the SEC's legends class: Alabama offensive tackle Chris Samuels, Arkansas offensive tackle Shawn Andrews, Auburn quarterback Jason Campbell, Georgia offensive lineman Jon Stinchcomb, Kentucky tight end (and former Bucs draft pick) James Whalen, LSU offensive tackle Robert Dugas, Ole Miss tight end Kris Mangum, Mississippi State guard Randy Thomas, Missouri defensive end Justin Smith, South Carolina offensive tackle Travelle Wharton, Tennessee defensive back Deon Grant, Texas A&M defensive back Ray Mickens and Vanderbilt offensive tackle Chris Williams.
