Four-star DL Shavar Manuel has orally committed to Florida, Manuel announced Tuesday evening.

Manuel, a former Blake High standout now at Bradenton's IMG Academy, chose the Gators over Florida State, USF and LSU.

"After taking my time, listening to my heart, and thinking things over, I would like to take the time to say I have officially committed to the University of Florida," Manuel said via Twitter.

Manuel was initially a five-star recruit and was ranked as high as No. 2 nationally by 247Sports. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound tackle is ESPN's No. 22 overall recruit. He becomes the ninth four-star recruit in the Gators' incoming class.

Our Bob Putnam profiled Manuel last week before the Under Armour All-America Game.

Oral commitments are non-binding until recruits sign letters of intent during their senior season. Signing day is Feb. 3.
