Florida defensive back and former Wharton High standout Vernon Hargreaves has announced that he will forgo his senior season to enter the NFL draft.

"I have officially decided to declare for the NFL draft!" Hargreaves wrote in an Instagram post. "The amount of love and support I've received since coming to Florida cannot be put into words! I can't be more grateful for such an amazing university! The love I have for UF will never (perish) and I am forever a gator!"

The move isn't a surprise; Hargreaves said after the SEC title game that he intended to leave UF after his junior season to enter the NFL draft.

Hargreaves earned unanimous All-America honors as a junior. The 5-foot-11, 199-pound cornerback had four interceptions and four pass breakups. He is projected as a first-round pick and one of the top defensive backs in this spring's draft.
