GAINESVILLE -- Coaches for the Florida Gators and Kentucky Wildcats both downplayed the streak - UF's 29 consecutive wins over UK.

But it does seem to matter - at least according to what players said over the summer during SEC media days.

"It's going to mean a lot (to beat UF)," Kentucky linebacker Courtney Love said. "It's going to give us the momentum we need to create a dynasty at Kentucky."

The Wildcats said they don't believe the last two years of close calls have been moral victories. They were just like any other defeat.

"Coming so close and not getting the job done, it's tough..." running back Jojo Kemp said. "This is football. Nobody said it was going to be easy. This year, it's about doing everything right...so we can win those close games."

That didn't happen last week, when Kentucky allowed 34 unanswered points to lose to Southern Miss. We'll see what happens this afternoon at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
