Fort Worth update

So how many Florida teachers are headed to Texas? We don't know yet, but in recent weeks at least 52 have applied, including a couple dozen since this story ran in the St. Petersburg Times. Apparently, Fort Worth's brazen bid to lure them with better salaries (while their hopes for a raise here evaporate in the Florida heat) is working.

"A lot of those applicants are coming to our June 11 job fair," Clint Bond, the district spokesman, told The Gradebook. But attending the job fair isn't a must. "We're also doing some interviews over the phone," he said. "And if we feel it's a good fit, then we will hire them over the phone."
