Tobin named associate VP for academic affairs at USF

Gtobin003 A University of South Florida geography professor who specializes in natural hazards and water resources management has been named the school’s new associate vice president for academic affairs.

Graham A. Tobin, who served as geography department chair for five years, will work with college and department heads to align budget planning with USF’s strategic plan. He also will work to strengthen interdisciplinary initiatives in research and scholarship.

Tobin, who was associate vice chancellor for academic administration at the University of Minnesota, has been awarded the Research Honors Award from the Southeastern Division of the Association of American Geographers, the USF Askounes-Ashford Distinguished Scholar Award, and the USF Presidential Excellence Award.
